Letting field reps place orders on site (instead of phoning them in)

Field reps who "phone orders in later" are running a two-step process where one step is forgetting. The fix is placing the order in front of the customer.

Why on-site ordering wins

The customer sees live stock, so there are no surprises later. They see their own pricing, which builds trust. The order is confirmed while the enthusiasm is real — not three hours later when they have gone off the idea. And the rep never has to remember anything.

The kit

A tablet with a data connection and a web-based order tool. No installs, no syncing, no offline database to corrupt. If your order system runs in a browser and talks to Linnworks live, a £150 Android tablet is enough.

The workflow

Open the customer's account. Build the order together — the rep drives, the customer watches. Tier pricing applies automatically; any negotiated line gets overridden there and then, in the open. Submit before leaving the driveway. The warehouse sees it immediately.

Trade Order POS is responsive by design for exactly this. One rep, one tablet, orders straight into Linnworks from anywhere.
