Price memory: why remembering the last price you charged beats any rate card

Every trade counter has the moment: "what did we charge him last time?" The rep guesses, the customer corrects, someone loses.

The problem with rate cards alone

Tier pricing handles the structure — but real trade relationships accumulate exceptions. The negotiated price on that one SKU. The legacy rate you honoured after the price rise. Rate cards do not hold exceptions; memory does, badly.

What price memory does

Software remembers the exact unit price you last charged each customer for each SKU, and fills it automatically next time. The negotiation happened once; the system honours it forever. No arguments, no margin leaks from generous guessing, no awkward calls.

Structure plus memory

The strongest setup is both: tier pricing for the default, price memory for the exceptions. The customer picks up where they left off, every time.

Trade Order POS does both natively — tier prices from B2B Price Tiers, last-charged memory per customer per SKU on top.
