QuickBooks estimates going quiet? The UK follow-up fix
QuickBooks Online has a solid UK following — and UK QuickBooks users lose estimates exactly the way Xero users lose quotes: sent once, chased never.
The gap QuickBooks leaves
QuickBooks will create the estimate, email it and track its status. What it will not do is notice the customer has gone quiet and do something about it. For a UK small business where the owner is also the sales team, that follow-up lands on the same to-do list as everything else — which means it mostly does not happen.
Why it matters more for smaller firms
A big company can absorb a lost quote. For a small UK business, a handful of revived estimates a month is a material difference — often the margin between a good month and a flat one. And the estimates most likely to revive are the warm ones: repeat customers, referrals, people who asked you to quote. They meant to reply. The nudge is a service, not a nuisance.
Making it automatic
Connect QuickBooks Online once. The tool watches open estimates, notices the ones past their expiration, and sends a courteous follow-up sequence that stops the moment the estimate is accepted, closed or rejected. You can exclude any customer or estimate where chasing would be wrong.
