Auto-processing counter sales in Linnworks: skip the pick for walk-outs

Linnworks assumes every order needs picking and despatch. At a trade counter, the customer just carried the goods to their van — the pick already happened, by them.

The fake-pick problem

If counter sales enter Linnworks as open orders, someone has to process them — picking orders that are already gone. Skip it and stock counts drift; do it and you are paying someone to press buttons about the past.

Auto-process is the honest answer

For genuine walk-outs, push the order straight from open to processed the moment it is submitted. Stock decrements immediately, reporting stays truthful, and nobody picks a phantom order. Keep it as a toggle — phone orders that ship later still want the normal flow.

Trade Order POS has auto-process as a per-user toggle, off by default. Counter staff turn it on; phone-order staff leave it off. Both land correctly in Linnworks.
