Hosted Linnworks MCP for Claude: what’s coming, and what it won’t do
Key takeaways
- Hosted Linnworks MCP connects Claude to your own Linnworks account with nothing to deploy. You approve the app in Linnworks and add one connector to Claude.
- Starter is £13.99 a month inc VAT and read-only: orders, stock, purchase orders, returns and refunds. Pro, coming soon, adds four kinds of change, each previewed and approved in the chat.
- No copy of your order book, customer list or stock is kept. Answers are read live.
- It is running against our own Linnworks account now and opens to other sellers very soon.
Short answer: it is a server we run that gives Claude a set of Linnworks tools, so you can ask about your orders, stock, purchase orders and refunds in plain English and get answers read live from your account. It is working against Green & Home’s own Linnworks account now while we finish testing, and the waiting list is open.
Why a hosted version
We already sell the source code for a Linnworks MCP server that you deploy to your own Cloudflare account. That suits agencies and in-house developers. It doesn’t suit the much larger group of Linnworks sellers with nobody to run a terminal, who just want to ask Claude what is stuck in open orders. The hosted version is for them: we run the server, you connect it.
If you are new to the idea, what MCP unlocks for Linnworks and buying versus building a Linnworks MCP server cover the background.
What it reads
- Orders: open orders not yet despatched, processed orders by date range, and any single order in full.
- Stock: items by SKU, title or barcode, stock levels per location, and several records at once.
- Purchase orders: search them, and open one with its items and deliveries.
- Returns and refunds: history (up to three months per question), refunds on a given order, and refunds waiting for action.
What it can change, on Pro (coming soon)
Four things: base retail prices (not channel listing prices), archiving SKUs, unarchiving them, and creating an open order. Each one works the same way. Claude shows you a before-and-after preview, and nothing happens until you approve it in the chat. Each approval works once and expires after ten minutes.
There are guard rails on top: up to 50 SKUs per price change and 100 per archive; price moves of more than 50% either way are refused unless you explicitly allow them; and items that still hold stock, or sit on an open order or purchase order, won’t be archived.
What it won’t do
It won’t look up customers. We took the customer tools out because the Linnworks endpoints behind them returned errors. The details on an order are still there when you open the order.
It won’t keep a copy of your data. Answers are read from Linnworks when you ask. We hold your account details, your Linnworks access token (encrypted) and a 90-day log of actions taken. A change you have previewed but not approved is held for up to ten minutes, then discarded.
It won’t replace Linnworks. Despatch, picking and channel integrations carry on exactly as they are. And it won’t make bad data good: if your cost prices are stale, margin answers will be too.
How you connect it
Sign in with a six-digit code we email you; there is no password. Approve the app from inside your Linnworks account. Then, in Claude, go to Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector and paste the address from your account page. You never share a Linnworks password or paste an API key anywhere.
It is built and tested with Claude. Other assistants that support remote MCP servers with OAuth sign-in should connect too, but Claude is the one we have tested.
Pricing
Starter is £13.99 a month inc VAT. Pro is coming soon. Join the waiting list to hear first.
Hosted Linnworks MCP is an independent Grafto product. Not affiliated with Linnworks Ltd or Anthropic; “Linnworks” and “Claude” are used only to say what it works with.
Frequently asked questions
When does Hosted Linnworks MCP open?
Very soon. We haven’t fixed a date yet; join the waiting list on this page and we will email you on the day.
Does it work with ChatGPT?
It is built and tested with Claude. Other assistants that support remote MCP servers with OAuth sign-in should connect, but we have only tested Claude.
Can Claude change things in Linnworks without asking?
No. Changes are only possible on Pro, which is coming soon; every change is shown as a preview first, and nothing happens until you approve it in the chat. Each approval works once and expires after ten minutes.
