Managing wholesale price lists by CSV without descending into chaos
However good your pricing tool, the edges of the job are CSVs: supplier cost files arriving, customer price lists leaving. The trick is keeping CSV as the doorway, not the database.
Inbound: supplier cost updates
A supplier sends new costs. Import the file, match on SKU, update costs — and let tier formulas recalculate prices from there. What you never do is hand-edit selling prices row by row in the spreadsheet; the formulas exist so a cost change is one import, not an afternoon.
Outbound: customer price lists
Export the grid filtered to a tier and you have that tier's price list, current as of today, for sending to an account. Because it is generated from the live data, it is never the stale copy that starts pricing disputes.
The one rule
The grid is the truth; CSVs are messengers. The moment a spreadsheet becomes the place prices are decided, you are back to spreadsheet pricing and everything it costs.
B2B Price Tiers does round-trip CSV — import to populate or update, export any slice — on top of a live grid that stays the system of record.
